Pastor Karen Hanson comes to us with a rich background of ministry. She has served

as a parish pastor, hospital and hospice chaplain and spiritual director.  Originally a

Wisconsin girl, she graduated from Luther Seminary in 1983.   She and her husband rent an apartment in Coupeville, and  make occasional trips back to their home in Kenmore to mow the lawn, pull weeds  and the other delights of home ownership.

For fun she likes to knit ( her current passion is socks) and go for day hikes with her husband.  This is her fifth interim overall.

Lynne Ogren serves as both the Director of Family Ministry and the Music Minister and is an Associate in Ministry with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She has been on staff here since 1995 when she and her family relocated to Oak Harbor from Grass Valley, CA. Her background is in elementary education and she is a lifelong Lutheran. She is married and has two children who attend school in the Oak Harbor School District.

Lynne feels blessed to be a part of this congregation. As the Music Minister she enjoys working with the people who bring a wide spectrum of musical gifts to our worship experiences. Family Ministry is a long-time passion of hers. As a parent, she knows what a challenge it is to raise happy, healthy children in today's society. The goal of Family Ministry is to provide support and resources to families that help parents take a lead role in raising their children in the Christian faith.
