Sunday School (Age 2 – grade 6)OHLC uses the Spark curriculum from Augsburg Fortress. Spark is a faith formation program that gets children ages 2 through grade 6 excited about God’s Word. Focusing on one Bible story per month, we use the rotation model which provides eight workshop options for each story. In this model, kids spend more than one week on a Bible story and visit a different workshop each week in order to experience that same story from different perspectives. Spark encourages the children to open the Scriptures and explore God's Word through a variety of age-appropriate activities, and it is designed to accommodate all the different ways a child learns.
For kids in Kindergarten to Grade 6, each workshop rotation is focused on a rich Bible story or group of Bible stories about particular characters. Workshop rotations include Art, Bible Skills and Games, Creative Lab, Cooking, Drama, Music, Science, and Video. Preschoolers, ages 2-3 and 4-5, stay in the same classroom with the same teachers each week.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is held for one week each summer and provides a fun week of singing, games, crafts and fellowship for children who will enter grades kindergarten through five the following fall. A three-day program is held the same week for preschoolers. The theme is different each year, but the message of God’s love for each child is constant. Contact the church office to find out this year’s dates, to help with VBS or to register a child.

Adult Education
OHLC has a comprehensive church library located in the Fireside Room. Fiction selections include titles for children, teens. young adults and adults. We have several shelves of Bibles and biblical reference titles and a
large selection of nonfiction under the topics of marriage, parenting, health, Christian living, current issues, biographies and church history. Some DVD's are available.
Two adult book groups meet monthly, both of which are social rather than literary groups. One group meets at the church on the 2nd Wednesdays at 1:00PM and one group meets in Coupeville on the 3rd Tuesday at 7:00PM in homes. Consult the current Harbor Beacon for book titles and the location of the Coupeville book group.
Men Study Group
Brotherhood of Saint Bernard, a fellowship of Christian men Familiarly known as “The Old Dogs,” the Brotherhood of Saint Bernard provides retired men an opportunity for lunch, Bible study, and fellowship at noon in the fellowship hall on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. They also sponsor occasional Saturday breakfasts for men of all ages and participate in a variety of service projects. Coordinator (lead dog) is Tom Piper. The group takes its name from St. Bernard, a 12th century saint most noted for being a voice of conscience and healing; the term ‘brotherhood’ was chosen to portray the group as a community of men related in faith.
Women's Study Group
Women’s Circles Deborah Circle, Esther Circle, and Rebecca Circle meet regularly for Bible study, fellowship, and service projects. Deborah Circle meets weekly, Thursday mornings in the church library at 10:00 AM. Esther Circle meets at 2:00 PM in the prayer room on the 3rd Thursday of the month, and Rebecca Circle meets at 10:00 AM in the library on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. A circle is a shape with no beginning or end making it a symbol of inclusion. New participants are always welcome!
