His Kids Preschool
 
Begun in 1993, His Kids Preschool is a ministry of Oak Harbor Lutheran Church, serving to help children ages 3, 4, and 5 develop spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally, through the grace of Jesus Christ.  Our teachers’ and assistants’ goals include teaching simple Christian truths, encouraging children to develop self-confidence, love for others, and cooperation in all activities, to increase the children’s skills in listening, self-discipline, conversation, and independent work and play, and to encourage parents to learn skills which promote the growth and development of their preschool children.

Schedule

 
We offer three regular classes during the school year:
 
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday,  9:00-11:30AM

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:30AM-3:00PM
Teacher - Gaye Rodriguey, Assistant - Debbie Reetz
 
Thursday and Friday, 9:00-11:30AM
Teacher - Elva McArthur, Assistant - Debbie Reetz
 
Each regular class has sixteen children (a mixture of 3 and 4 year olds), with a teacher and teacher's assistant. Activities include classroom projects, field trips, special presentations, snacks, stories, and songs. Children and teaching staff attend chapel weekly in the sanctuary.
 
We also offer an additional class:
        Pre-K Readiness, Thursday and friday, 12:30-3:00PM
        Teacher - Gaye Rodriguey, Assistant - Sonja Vande Griend
This class emphasizes reading and math readiness for kindergarten. It is open to children who will turn 5 during the school year and are enrolled in one of our regular 3-day classes. Class size is limited to 15 children, and has a teacher and assistant.
 
Registration begins in March for the coming year.
 
Registration is open the 1st week in March for continuing students and their siblings.
Registration is open the 2nd week in March for members and regularly worshiping non-members of Oak Harbor Lutheran Church.
Registration is open the 3rd week in March for the community.
